Ralph,
For normal driving, buy hypoid gear oil meeting API GL-5 or MIL- L-2105C specifications, SAE 80W-90 viscosity. The trailer towing section in my owner's manual states that you may also use SAE 75W-140 synthetic gear lubricant if you use your truck to pull a trailer for a significant number of miles. And, just to be sure you have a wide choice, we are informed that Dana 70 and Dana 80 axles come from the factory with SAE 90W oil. With this wide range to choose from, I am using Amsoil Series 2000, 100% synthetic, SAE 75W-90 gear lube, which meets GL-5 specifications.
You pay your money and you take your choice.
