I read up on a previous thread a little about changing the bearings on a 3500(thanks Joe Mc!)* but I'm still kinda corn-fused about the 2500s like I have. * Looking at the Chilton is a bit misleading, I think. * I need to know if I have to disassemble anything in the rear diff housing to replace my rear bearings and hub seals or can I get at everything at the hub. * Is there a write-up on this?* I'd like to tackle this tomorrow and see if it fixes my vibration. * If I could get a quick "Cliff's Notes" version (heck, even the long and boring version!) from someone who has changed their rear wheel bearings and axle seals, that would help alot!* I haven't done this before but it looks like I'll need:
2-9/16" thin wall rounded corner socket (Napa will be my first call, thanks BEnglish!)
Inner hub bearings
Outer hub bearings
Axle seal (one, I think, per side?)
BFH
If there isn't a writeup, I'll bring the ole' digital camera along and write it up as I complete it tomorrow... just wanted some help before I jump in to save a trip or two to the parts store!
Thanks guys!!
