I demonstrated to Phil the method of rear drum/hub removal. About 10 minutes later, I see Phil walking across the shop floor carrying the freshly removed opposite side brake drum/hub, tipped up on end, gear oil spilling out.

He has this big grin on his face, he did. He proceeded to tell me he managed to pulled the drum etc. and I sez... ... . "Phil,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, your spilling gear oil out across the floor and it's drooling down your pants leg".

ROFLMAO

Speaking of oils... ... ... ... . I found that he was mixing CH-4/CI-4 and CJ-4

He told me that it isn't nesessary for me to be reading the label,oil is oil etc. etc. :-{}

Then he left the house and ran off my drive way, over the colvert and through the ditch ... ... ... ... ... .

I was standing there like..... :--) And told myself it's little wonder he don't read the labels :-laf

Oh, yeah, and he uses FRAM filters on his CTD  Told him I'd have to report him :p

I pulled his muffer off and built a 4" system. He was like :--)

Poor Phil, comes over to his buddy's house for a little help and whats' he get? Abused! :{ Doesn't get help with the drum and ruins his pants, the guy aims him crooked down the driveway, so he almost ruins his truck on a pipe! :-laf :-laf

OK. I finally got home. It wasn't that bad of a trip... other than ruining Scott's front yard and busting his driveway culvert. Despite my attempts to reassemble parts, I have all new rear brakes. It's really strange to hit the brake pedal and have the truck stop at the same time.

During our time working under the truck, we kept getting showered with steel flakes from my exhaust system. I had no idea just how eaten up with rust that it was. Luckily there were enough used parts to put together a new system, from the first section past the downpipe, back across the axle.

I am under copyright restrictions from Smokehouse Diesel Inc. , but since he did mention it, here is my new tailpipe..... it sounds AWESOME!!

D350 Ram... ... ... Bluebird School Bus... ... ... .

What's the difference? ;) You should see what I can do with new store bought parts. :-laf That was just discarded parts from past exhaust work. :D

Happy to hear you made it home safe. I have "Kens Landscape & Tree Service" schedualed to repair the lawn and ODOT will replace the culvert. No worries there.

I got a good chuckle over this post. I needed it too. ;)

I grew up in Lorain County, Ohio many decades ago.

Shur is good that odot will replace the culvert. About time you got some of your taxes back. Oo.

One never knows what they will bring up from the vault when they do a "search" as the ol' say'n is, "you just can't make that up" LOL

:-laf

Glad to see the old gang is still around. Hows everyone doing?

Been awhile sine I talked to a few of you guys. I hope to get back on here a little more.

hopefully since i posted on this old thread they will chime in, i got the other, correct seals and had the hubs turned, guy wasn't sure he could turn and them still together but he said well we can sure try and Cha-ching$$$ he said i'll be dam lol, he hadn't turned them like that before and he has been there a long time, i said learn something new everyday LOL.
I am going to go down and wash everthing off with brake cleaner and replace one side at a time (can you tell i done stupid stuff before). . wish me luck.

I'm still here!

And what timing. Scott will be down here next week. I'll have to repay the favor and "work" on his truck.

James, it just dawned on me that he is going to be out your way too. I know he's heading to Independence for some bike riding. Maybe you can fire up the deuce and a half?

If you want to see what I've been up to, click on my Earth Day link at the bottom.

Hahaha, well it seems Floyd hasn't swallowed you up, glad to see your up to no good as usual LOL, getting stuck in the Wilds :-laf, im farther west trust me us ol' Va. boys can't get lost hehehe.

Phil the duece never got off the ground alot transpired in the past yrs, but we'll see might use the one i have for parts one day, i myself am dealing with this accident from Feb. where a guy hit me head on in the '92 finally got it back last week and im working on rear brakes as we speak, lost my job etc. . but im thankful im around to harass pple still ;)

Scott doing some riding on the parkway im guessing then, would love to meet him if i could, as for me i am driving supervised and only 4-5miles because of other reasons i deal with, hopefully soon i will be back to shifting gears and on my own, my sister, dad and neighbors are scaring me to death when they drive me somewhere, i try to drive all i can with them with me that way i can get back to my ol' self faster.

Hopefully i can make a visit to down your way Phil soon... well off to see if the PB blaster worked on that pesky brake line
