I've decided to do a rear brake job this weekend because the current shoes squeak real bad. I've cleaned the dust out several times, but they still squeak. The drums look a little glazed so I'll have them turned. I'm wondering what tools I will need to do an R&R on the rear shoes. Is there a particular brand/style spring tool that works best?

Also, I've been real happy with the Performance Friction carbon metallic pads I put on the front. Does Autozone sell a similar shoe for the rear? If not, what kind should I be looking for? Thanks!

I am interested in the special tools also.

I do know that any ol' brake shoe will do on the rear. I think there is a post out there where The "BrakeMaster" Sam Peterson says that it doesn't matter on the rear drums, they are all created pretty equal.

you just need a brake spring hanging tool, needle nose pliers, and a spring retining tool (This is the tool that allows you to reinstall the spring that holds the shoes against the backing plate. You might need a BFH to remove the drums and release the emergency brake.

It is not that hard ;)
