What would cause the rear brakes to grab quicker than the front?

The info on the truck is a 99 automatic(drum brakes) with 285/75/16 tires.

thanks,

Mike

Mike,

Usually fluid on the inside drum. Brake fluid or rear seal has started to leak.

I think the parking brake cable can get hung up also.

The automatic adjusters don't work that great so I doubt if that is your problem.

Unless you (had) adujusted them yourself already or you back up at wot and hit your brakes hard a whole lot. ;)

What Bill said...

Pull the drums and check. Don't try and clean the shoes if they are oiled, fix the leak and replace em cause the grabbing will return no mater how much you clean them.
