My 9 year old Daughter was checking out my new 2002 truck last night, I thought she was going to start crying, "Daddy, the cup holder back here is missing, I want your old truck back"

Dam Dodge, Just to save a couple dollars. I read in the owners manual "some automatic trucks have the rear cup holder, all manual trucks have the rear cup holder".

Anybody know if I can just buy a cup holder and install it myself?

This rear cup holder is very inportant. Not just to make my kid happy, but it is required to keep the liquid off the carpet (anybody with kids knows what I am talking about)

Signed "rear cupholderless"

I haven't looked to see how it is installed, but I would think that it was just a delete with everything else. I have them in mine which is a manual as well as a 2001. 0. I can't figure out why it would be different between manuals vs. automatics, other than the auto's have the extra holders up front. This doesn't help the person in the back seat however?

Cheesy Save a Buck Methods

When I discovered that mine was also missing... . I went back to the dealer and was very assertive about the fact that the factory forgot to put it in, I paid for it when I purchased the truck and that I expected my truck to have it. Dealer installed the cup holder and the under hood insulation that was missing, no charge.

This is my first Dodge (always had fords) the reason I purchased this truck was due to the fact that it has the Cummins engine which is by far the best diesel offered in a Pickup. But. . I sure did not apprcieate the cheap and cheesy removing parts to save a buck approach. This sure is not the action a winning corporation would take "Hey brother could you spare a dime"

I have one that I took off my truck. It wouldnt work with my center cushion sub.

They are very easy to take off. I've never reinstalled one but I assume it's the same.

PM or email me if interested.

I too, fought the dealer and had them mail me a rear cupholder, which I installed myself. They still stiffed me on the tinted windsheild though.

I have not had mine out in the daylight yet, you mean that tint stripe across the top of the windshild may be missing?

If so, Great, I always hated that stripe, I am tall, and it always bothered me.

Then I must have been shortchanged because its not in mine with a manual shift. Just another delete along with the tinted windshield. :(

after market cup holder

I agree that it's so lame that DC deleted a bunch of stuff from the 2002 trucks. I miss my hood blanky:{

As for the rear cup holder, I just bought a cheap, little, place on the seat type. My Walmart special is small enough to fit under the seat, so I only pull it out when my 9 year old has a drink or we're traveling. This way it's always handy, no matter where he sits and he can reach it with his seat belt snug.

The factory rear cup holders in my ZJ and Camry are either inconvenient or broken, so I don't miss the factory offering.

I too have a ZJ and let me tell you they might as well have not put anything back there. Things are more likely to be spilled with it than without.

My children were too small to easliy reach the factory holder without unbuckling (ABSOLUTE NO-NO).

I purchased a truck center console unit from a local auto parts store. It was worth the money a thousand times over. It has 2 cup holders within easy reach. It has a center storage area that holds most of their cassette tapes. I think it is Steel Horse brand but cannot verify.
