What is the exact oil capacity of of the Dana 80 in the rear of the Cummins?... I can't remember what I read in the manual and I want to be sure to get enough 75W-140 for the change over.
I'm posting from memory here, but I believe the capacity is 7. 8 pints or not quite 4 quarts. When it starts running out of the fill plug, you will know you have enough in.
The NV4500 takes 7. 8 pints of fluid. Regarding the 6. 8 pints for the Dana 80, I am glad that I changed to the Mag-Hytec cover. I'm running 14 pints in the differential right now. That has got to be much better for the axle and gears.
