How important is it to have? I tow a 16k fifth wheel about every other month, sometimes long distances. I am planning on installing a pyro (pre-turbo) and a boost in a 2 guage pillar pod. Should I go ahead with a 3 guage pod and include the rear diff temp guage now? What temp range does the guage need to be? Will the 0-280 in Geno's be enough? I am going to order the EGT and Boost and pod from Geno's anyway.

Thanks for your input.

Everyone is different

It all depends on what you want to monitor some people have lots of guages and some just the absolute nessecary ones like pyro, boost and fuel pressure. I don't worry to much about trans temp or diff temp but that is just me. Maybe you could get two senders and do a dual temp guage with trans and diff on one gauge.

I think what the guy before me said, but I consider the rear temp gauge to be accentual if you tow heavy, which I consider anything over 10,000lbs. Also the more informed you stay the better the results will be. For some reason Dodge decided to make all it's vehicles sport "dummy" gauges, they represent nothing, and are simply "eye candy", there to make you feel good. I run alot of gauges because I like to know what is truly happening, I am not at all amused by Dodges attempt to "Monitor" the conditions. The gages that are recessed on yours and every other Dodge owners truck, do nothing. They are pre-determined to point at a particular value, it has nothing to due with what is currently happening in the vehicle.

I would put a temp gauge in the trans first. On a 97* day I saw 250* on the trans 195* on the rear diff this was pulling 16k on the interstate at 65 to 70 mph for most of the day. The transfer case and front diff both read 175* and the engine oil 225*
