Hi All,

I'm not sure if this is in the right forum, but here goes. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there will be clearance between a Hellwig sway bar and either the MagView or Mag-Hytek differential cover?

I would like to add both to my truck, but I was wondering if there'd be a problem with the extra depth of the cover hitting the sway bar. I don't know if the Helwig sway bar follows the same contour as the OEM bar or not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The maghytec will clear a stock bar just let them know you have it. The helwig not sure. would be worth a call to Roy at Maghytec. His number is in the links section. Don't know about the magview.

Oh, yea...

I should have thought of that, just send an email to both cover mfg'rs and see what they say.

Still, I wouldn't mind having some unbiased opinions on the issue.

Thanks!

I have the Helwig rear sway bar and the Mag-Hytek diff cover. The bar will hit the cover if the wheels are at full drop. I had to make some custom mounts to push the bar about 1. 5" to the rear of the cover. This is on a 4x4 2500. I don't know if there is a difference with a 4x2.

The reply

I just called Hellwig, and they say that they've been working with Mag-Hytec, and for the last four months or so they've been including three set of plates with the sway bar, and that I need to use the longest plate for installing the sway bar so it will clear the cover without any problem. These plates are probably what you needed 15w40. Not that it would help you now, but the man I talked to (Robert) said that the plates are available separately.

So, I guess that answers the question. Thanks for the replies!!
