Just curious if anyone has done this. I have installed a couple of EGR disc brake kits, and they are pitiful at best. I am wanting to use ALL Dodge OEM parts on my early '01 Dana 80-equipped truck. Has anyone done it? Please post any information you can. Thanks! :D

The installer who did my conversion(it came out pretty darn good) says Dana 70 or 80 is a direct bolt-up. Only trouble is finding the part! Here in San Diego he's got a standing order at junk yards but no call so far,it's been months and months.

I know doing a differential swap will work, but I don't need to do that. I'd like to just upgrade the backplates and all the other hardware to convert my drums to discs when the time comes. It will be a while though... My brakes still have over 50% life left at 151,000 miles... Gotta like that!

you can do the backplate mod... another member ground off the plates, the fashioned new plates and welded them in place... then all there was to do was to bolt up the OEM parts.

I did the EGR Brakes conversion. Not bad but I don't have a machine shop to do the backplate making and I don't have a welder so that was out for me... .
