When I back out of my driveway or leave a stop sign I can hear a noise and feel a shudder from the back right side of the truck. It feels like the brake is not releasing after I take my foot off of the pedal and apply power to the rear wheels. I got home and crawled underneath and could smell a burning smell by the right rear but I could not see anything. I would have taken the wheel off but it was raining. Does anybody know what I should look for or have any idea what it might be. I would like to fix or adjust it myself to avoid the hassle of the dealer. Any ideas or help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I don't have rear discs, but I have some thoughts based on my wife's Acura.
Is the parking brake hanging up? I had a heck of a time with a misadjusted parking brake cable, although it should affect both sides and not just one side, unless the cable is hung up.
Is the caliper stuck? The front calipers both stuck on my Ram after 50,000. You should be able to check by lifting the rear of the truck and spinning the rear wheels. There will be some drag due to the differential, but not too much.
How about the proportioning valve? I am assuming there is one, or something similar. Again, I would expect that to affect both sides.

check the caliper sliders to make sure the caliper is releasing the outer pad. pull caliper out of the bracket and lube all metal to metal contacts with caliper lube {not chassis grease} also lube caliper pins & boots with silicone paste lube. if this takes care of the problem do the other side also... sam
