My rear end was leaking, front seal. The mechanic said the more oil the cooler and dodge recommends synthetic for towing. Parts orderer said the mag-hytec cover would void the warranty. He did order the parts. (warranty)16,500 miles 7 months. Looks like to me it would help. Surely he is smart enough to know that or is he just being a horses hiney. any thoughts or comments appreciated. I didn't buy the truck there but they know me from previous truck, it laid down on vacation and had to get new one.

Mag Hytec will void the warranty? I seriously
doubt that. Having said that, I am not
suprised that he told you that using non-
factory axle lube voids the warranty as well!

I have a Mag Hytec on my '01 3500; I will be
watching this thread for further updates on
this "warranty voiding" issue. .

The dealer says the Mag-Hytec rearend cover will void the warranty?

Thats HOGWASH!!

The Mag-Hytec cover is MUCH better than the OE inspection cover. Increased lubricant and cooling capacity, machined cooling fins on the cover, Magnetic drain plug, lube reference plug, 1/8 NPT temperature sender port and a magnetic dipstick for checking fluid level and condition.

If you have a rear sway bar, you will need the shims or spacers Mag-Hytec suppies N/C.

Maybe the tech you person that you talked to at the dealership doesn't understand the benefits?

I would tell Mag-Hytec that your dealer said their product will void your warranty. I'll bet they'll have some choice words for the service department!. #ad

Let us know how you make out #ad

I got a personal e-mail from Roy at mag-hytec and he said he has talked to some of the Dodge engineers and they told him the cover would NOT void the warranty. If they say it does he asked me to contact him. I can forward yall a copy if you holler at me. Thanks, Roy

The DC dealers sell em and service em - so that dealer is a-nother one we need to stay away from. Some of the dealers will "recommend" that you change to it for towing - helps prevent warranty work. Better lubeing and you do get the mag dipstick for checking for "chips".

ps: do use the spacers, if required. Need to order and install them on mine (Roy???). Have been close to touching the cover with the sway bar at times with a load. Didnt think I would be hauling as much as I am (p/u do find more "friends" - per the song).

SOTSU!!
