I just got done changing my rear diff fluid over to AmsOil Ser. 2000 75W-90 gear lube. I am fairly curtain that I was taken to the cleaner by my dealer 30,000 miles ago. I paid $135. 00 for the dealer to change out the rear end and put in there Synthetic Gear (Castrol I think). The rear end cover had never been OFF. Did I just get screwed or do they just suck out what they can get?

I had the rear end changed before I had joined TDR. I called the dealer and asked about if it was common practice to just suck out the fluid and not pull the cover and they said it was. I told them that I was very unhappy with this and the service manager offered me a free oil change.

I don't think so

drawson,

I did mine when I changed to the Mag-hytek. I parked the truck on level ground & removed the cover. Then I rolled out the floor jack & raised 1 side @ a time & drained the axle tubes. I was surprised how much was in there! Don't get mad, get even, do it yourself next time. #ad
