My limited slip started to shudder when turning slow or pulling out onto the road. Sometimes when just moving slow I can feel it binding. I was running Amsoil 75-90 and changed it. It still binds when turning so I added limited slip gear oil addative to the limited slip oil which seemed to help a little. I'd like to think that my rear end isn't going bad. I had about 40,000 miles on the original oil and the truck has 136,000 miles. Any ideas??

Hi Butch
I don't know how much of the trac loc additive you put in but if you added only one bottle you might want to add another. The tech manual says to add 1 bottle but when I worked in a Dodge dealership the tech's always added 2 bottles. Since I started using 2 bottles I've noticed a much smoother diff. Hope this helps.

Mine shuddered a little too, but I couldn't track it down. Finally the bearings went and got a new diff done. The clutches were toast and now with the new stuff it seems smoother. Now I don't know what the guys at the gear shop used for slip-lube either. Try the extra additive and see what shakes out.
