I have 4. 10's on in my 2000 auto, I love them,I have 285 BFG's,and I feel the gearing is perfect,I can still pull a trailer without luggging, and this truck will go 110mph all day long. I had a 96 with 3. 55's,the 12V wasnt a revver,so for that truck,I think i had the right gear, but this truck has so much more snot pulling, with 3. 55's you have to go slow in 3rd,or pul at 75-80 to have enough RPM's to keep the auto happy, and stay in the power range.

YIKES!!

Called the people on the link I posted earlier. They wanted $750 just for the gears. They said it was a kit but there aint much more to it.

Called the shop I had do my last swap and they quoted me $800 for the swap and all the parts. Dana/Spicer gears too. They won't work with anyone elses.

Add that to the DTT mods coming up and this is getting to be one expensive truck. Though after reading one of the other posts on money dropped on trucks I guess I'm still a pup :D :D

Did it!

I'm now the proud owner of a 3:73 gear set. So far I love it. Unfortunately I'm still waiting on my transmission upgrades to arrive so I can't put full power to it yet. On the freeway it sits right where it should in the power band. Take off is better and keeps me from lugging at lower speeds around town. Shouldn't have been so cheap the first time. :(

Anyway I have a 3:54 ring & pinion set I'll let go for $100 + shipping if anyone want's it.
