Hi, my father is considering lowering his 2002 3/4 ton using the kit from dodge. He tows a 5th wheel with his truck, and it just seams a little too high in the back.

What does this kit consist of?

how hard is the install?

any recommendations on the cheapest place to purchase the kit?

Thanks

Dave

The only place I know of to get the kit is the dealer. Up here, they want over $1000. I believe the kit comes with new shocks and a new spring block. There's more info here . Depending on how heavy his 5er is, he may not want to lose the overload springs.

So does this kit do away with the factory overload springs? In the pictures on klenger's site the springs look to be retained...

Thanks

I went to a suspension shop and had the 4" blocks removed and installed 2" blocks. It leveled out the truck but when I hook up the 5er it puts a squat on the pickup. I need the 4" blocks back to raise the rear am looking for a pair to reinstall.

I would suggest checking the ground clearance of the 5th wheel just aft of the hitch, again near the rear of the unit, see how far off it is, front to back.

I had the blocks on the rear axle of my truck reduced by 1. 5" at a local spring shop, works well, still off the overloads when connected to our 28' Dutchman. Cost $C200.
