Hey everyone.

I think the rear main seal is going on my 01, which will soon be off warranty. Is this something that should be covered, and if so, what is the best way to go about having it done under warranty. ps. the dealership where I bought my truck is pretty worthless and knows very little about our trucks. (ie. the salesperson said the cummins is a v8). Haven't heard good things about their service dept. either.

Thanks. Ben.

find a better dealership close and take it the complaint of an oil leak.

This isnt Dodge but I just replaced a head on a3. 0L V6 in Mazda Tribute at 49,843 miles warranty go's up at 50,000

Leaky/loose oil pan bolts were fairly common on the 2nd Gen rigs, especially the ones at the rear of the pan. Try re-torqueing them if you think this is your problem.

Good Luck

Bill
