2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission rear spring u bolts

I was just wondering if anyone has taken off there overloads. I did this tonight and had to put the truck back together for work so I used the spacers so the u bolts would reach. Is this safe to do. Thanks .

You need to get new U Bolts. In theory, they aren't even supposed to be reused.

They shouldn't be reused as Nate said..... your local spring shop should be able to make you a set to fit your needs.

Overloads

I had mine removed years ago in order to get rid of "overload slap". The factory overloads don't even begin to work until the truck is grossly overloaded. New u-bolts are a must.
