I'm looking for a good replacement main leaf spring. My rear springs are pretty well worn. The overloads are sitting less than an inch from the frame rest. The ride is harsh to say the least. Should I get a factory replacement or maybe get some custom springs from somewhere?

Whatever is cheaper I would guess. But you might want a replacement rear spring from dodge. A good deal would be like 200 for standard ones and 325 for the heavy duty version. Ouch! You could have a good shop make you some softer riding springs for 250 each or ever ones that have a better overload. A choice in things, isnt that nice :)

Whether you get stock replacements or an aftermarket spring really depends on what you want to do with the truck. DieselDan reported excellent results with custom National Spring rear leafs - ride was dramatically improved. But I think those springs ran ~$250 each.

thanks

I would like to get rid of the lift block. Axle wrap has gotten to be a big problem with the worn springs. I would also like to put some airbags on in the future also. I haul some large loads with my truck, so ride quality isn't my primary concern, but I want a spring that will haul a load and last a while. I plan to run this truck untill it dies. Then I'll put the engine in something else. Can someone recomend a good custum spring manufacturer?
