Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Rear Transmission Seal Leaking? Pics to confirm.

I thought there were only 2 sizes for 4x4's? I've got a couple of the smaller ones that come in rebuild kits, it seems the units I rebuild always need the larger so I have to go buy it



Glad you got it all done, no more worries. The 4 bolts on the carrier bearing hanger are the 4 I've always removed. I don't remember it being such a PITA except for all the gravel and grime that seems to collect up there.



So Nick, you've got this one all done, what's the next project? If you're anything like me you're at least one maintance project behind what needs to be done

Scott, I'm aiming next to do the valve lash adjustment on the tappets. I've bought the 6 in lb torque tool from Cummins, plus some replacement rubber seals, and I'm really, really looking forward to an easy job! I've done my own maintenance for over 40 years on British vehicles, but you guys who work on these difficult trucks get my respect. Yesterday I gave up trying to adjust the slow idle rpm, even with a mirror and a flashlight! Nick
