I have reviewed and searched the site and haven't found a good answer to my questions...

I am adding a backup camera to my tradesman thru my Edge CTS monitor. I had one of the Ebay cheapy license plate camera's on my '05 but it didn't last a year.

What are some good options for a camera? I know I can get the tailgate handle assembly with the camera, which would be nice, but as far as I can tell it is a different video connection, and I need an RCA to go to the Edge.

Idea's?... I see I can get a round camera that goes into a 1/2" hole... Possibly I can drill a hole in the tailgate handle where the factory camera would go?

Curious what others have done... I have the cheapest radio so viewing the camera is not an option.

Some car accessory stores have them. On my 04 dually, backed into a light pole, motorcycle, post twice, and my own car. GET ONE,!... My new Laramie has not only a cargo camera, backup camera but also warning sensors...

I found a Chrysler Back up Cam kit on Ebay after my dealer told me non existed for my 2013. The kit put the cam display on the dash radio. Not the small rear view mirror. Wasn't too $$ off the top of my head around $175. It was involved to install and the dealer had to add it to the VIN number but it works awesom.

yes... the 3.0/RA1 is the standard radio on the Tradesmen trucks, which as I understand is not compatible with the back up camera.

My new truck has an 8.4A, I believe RA3 it's called too. I'm going to install one of the aftermarket kits. I'll take notes and share it on TDR later unless someone else beats me. LOL Herb

I bought and installed an expensive backup camera from Lock Pick when I installed the Lock Pick system on my REC NAV radio. It lasted two weeks, after the first car wash it was toast. So I looked on line and found a cheap camera by Tao Tronics through the Neweeg website, it was $24.00. So I bought 3 of them thinking that I would have gone through them by now, I'm still on the 1st one, and it has been through a lot of washes.
