Been traveling around Colorado and had something strange happen. When I am not towing, I let the DW drive around as we check out all the National Parks. On the way back to AZ from Gunnison we camped at a RV GC and headed for Mesa Verde National Park. Its a pretty steep road to the top and the DW was driving as usual. When we got to the top parking lot and getting ready to park the rear tires felt like they were locking up as she was turning into a parking space. She stopped and I got out to see if there was anything visibly wrong, but could not see anything that would indicate a problem. I got in and started to slowly drive around and it was doing the same thing. It felt like the rear tires would lock up for a few feet and then release. Road conditions were dry.
Then I noticed we were in 4WD. I am not sure how or when it was turned on and not sure if that would have caused the issue. I also toggled off and on the traction control and left it off. Turned off the engine and made sure the traction control was off and it was out of 4WD. It worked normally and has not had an issue for over 150 miles.
It is bugging me, even though it is working again. If anyone has experienced something similar I would like to hear from you, or if someone a lot more knowledgable about these trucks then me. I am always learning, but I sure do not want to blow up my drive train. Thanks in advance
