Hammer? More like a . 45, and yes my property is worth more than some scumbags life. Sorry to hear about this Tom. BTW, dads truck is now in the driveway, safe and sound. Thanks for all your help. And for the envelope in it.

Good to hear ya got it...

It kills me to have to report this under my insurance, rates will most likely go up. And BTW - my checkbook was stolen so I already call and left a message at the bank and x-fered funds out of the acct on the internet...

I only hope my door can be fixed without a ton of work. I dont want to have to get a new door

Man Tomey... I too feel your pain. My truck got broken into about a month ago and they messed my door up, busted my column and stole my book of over 200 CD's. Now last night my brother 06 2500 Big Horn 4x4 was broken into (different part of town though).

Sorry to hear about the losses guys. I'm curious if the two trucks you mentioned had the handles pryed like Tomeyguns? That seems to be the prefered method used to gain entry.

I've been putting off buying the Jimmi 'Jammers, but they are looking better every day if it helps to keep the scum out.

Tommygun,

My feelings on this kind of activity is they will someday answer to a higher authority!

So sorry to hear you lost so many valuable items, which can be replaced, but just the same it sure makes one feel VIOLATED!

I just called and ordered these for all doors. Cheap, cheap, cheap insurance.

ANd the idea is simple - a metal plate that keeps the screwdriver from being able to get to the rod that moves up and down...

After I get them I will post if I think they are effective... Heck I may test it out :)

BTW - when they tossed the stock turbo (had it in a box in the in the back seat) out of the truck - when it hit the ground it broke the front housing and wastgate. That plus the stereo etc comes to about $2500 total...

Insurance compamy has already filed a claim, I will be crossing my fingers.

That really sucks!!!

Man Tomeygun I'm sorry to hear and see what happened... I've had 2 REALLY nice stereo's stolen "I mean Eclipse TV/DVD/GPS head unit JL W'7's, memphis 1100 D amps neon the whole nine yards" I had it all insured, but it still made me so sick to my stomach that with this truck I just tapped into the 6 disk changer and ran RCA's to a 840 watt coustic amp with the infintity 12" subs in a custom fiber glassed box. It sounds good...

Your unfortunate experience has convinced me to order them as well. I would kick myself later if my truck got jimmied because I was too cheap to spend the $80 now.

Of course, they could always just smash a window, but that makes significantly more noise.

I mounted my box, woofer, and amp with a TON of square bit screws... and I back-strapped my head unit TIGHT!!!

my buddy made fun of me, but my old setup was easily stolen, and it made me feel much better to overdo it the 2nd time

Correct, and sets off the alarm...

But did you know most of the time when a lock is popped in this manner that the factory alarm does not go off? I dont know if this is true on our trucks. But its a good enough reason to buy the jimmi Jammers.

BTW - the insurance company is already talking trash - they say the turbo "may" not be covered because it was in the back seat - Not actually bolted to truck.

I think I better ready my policy VERY CLOSELY... or else the turbo and such will be going on the home owners policy :(

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. I hate seeing someone I know personally have their possessions stolen. Makes me sick. Do you have a factory alarm system or aftermarket? Good luck

chris

P. S. My boxer and a 12 guage would do the BAS***D just right!!!!

MFalkinham, both mine and my brothers truck were broken into the same way. Slightly different method than the one they used on Tomey's. Instead of prying it open, they just get a chisel or a good screwdriver and poked a small hole underneath the the door handle right inline with the lock mechanism and can access the lock that way. Either way the Jimmi Jammers will work with both methods used on our trucks.

Factory alarm...

I bet it went off and they left the door open. Then when no one came out, they just left the door open and went to town on the stealing.

The alarm is triggered by voltage, not motion.

hey guys does no body believes in the after market alarms they are better than the stock units can get them with two way pagers and proximity sensors so it detects motion, also, Tommygun, hope the Ins helps you out, sorry about the bad news. GOOD LUCK

Tom... Can't help you with some of the stuff they took, but if you when you replace your radio get one with the removable face. Some even have a security tie to the radio so that the radio will not work without the original faceplate (i. e. they take the radio and try to use another faceplate). I have one of these and only remove it when the truck is parked in an area that may not be that secure.

By the way... Does anybody know a good place to order these "Jimmi Jammers" other then the local "St**ler?"

I am looking into that. Actually one step further. I am going to take one of the broken headunit from the dealership and hack the face off. Then mount the body of cd player like under the center cushion, then remote mount the faceplate under the Hvac controls (using CAT5 wire, you can do this)

anyway, I will make it a project and have some fun with it

It sure is diappointing to have some scum mess with your stuff. I don't know if a security system would have slowed this trash down but I like to think it might. I know the Viper system has a transceiver that at least lets you know your truck is being messed with.

Good luck with the repairs.
