Competition Dodge VS Dodge

ok here is the deal had a bad oil leak started looking for teh leak found it a bolt behind teh cam worked itself out therefor lettign the oil seep out between the gear housing and the block. so I riped out the engine and transmission had to send back clutch to get fixed.

here are the questions

1. should I go back with stock cummins gaskets (if not which kind should I use)

2. what brand of pistions should I use (not going to bore head)

3. does anyone know if there are any aftermarket motermounts(any with polyurathane) (craked both of mine)

4. does any one make a polyurathane bushing kit for the dodge

5. is there anything else I should do

thanks for the help

one more question

why doesn't anyone design a twin turbo that uses a split manifold and 2 HX35's one off of 1,2&3 and one off 4,5&6 then TRUE dual 3- 31/2 inch exhaust.

just a question maybe there is a reason.

Can only 3 cylinders (and their exhaust) spin each turbo is a question that should be on your mind. No I have never tried it nor do I know anyone who has... .....

The twin/split manifold turbo have been tried and they work much like a single turbo that is twice the size of a HX35. You need a major hit with drugs to get them to spool on the street. I understand that twin HY35/9cm work better but still not streetable. HTH's

Mr. Rice,

You can go with a variety of pistons from cummins. Remember though, they are going to want to go by your engine CPL#, so if you want the marine pistons or the high performance pistons, you are going to have to order them by part number or know of a corresponding CPL that will get you what you want. The marine pistons will lower your compression, great if you are going the high HP route, not such a good idea if you use it daily driver in cold climates, 15. 3:1 ain't so great when chilly :D The high performance pistons have teflon coated skirts, and I do not know that much about them. Also, you can have your pistons media blasted with walnut shells and reuse them if you choose. Another option is to send your pistons out to have them ceramic coated, I would highly recommend this due to the benifits of heat resistance.

For gaskets, I would go to your local cummins shop and tell them what you are doing, and they'll be able to get you what you need. Most likely an upper gasket set and a lower gasket set. For head gaskets, there are a lot of rumors about how many different types/thicknesses are sold, to my knowledge, there is only one type sold for the "B" series, the heavier duty one.

If you need any help, PM me.

Turbo envy!:D

yeah 900 bucks for pistons and rings, and then another 600 bucks to have them flycut and ceramic coated... . 1500 bucks in 6 pistons. :{

SLOW

well here is the up date talked to engine guy last week couldn't find even 2 thousandths wear in the cyclinders pin are great pistions are great all bearings were good. the only thing that he could find to cause blow by were bad valve guides and of course the bolt that backed itself out behind the cam shaft gear. so I am still waiting on my parts from piers had some problem but they were great about it as usual and my clutch rebuild from peter. (I was hoping that I would just win the new one)

I thats all the news from lake bardwell where the men are hansome and the women are above average:D

I will let yall now more when I get things started back together.
