i recently got a recall from DC for my 3500 2wd for replacing the front coil springs as the wrong ones were installed at the factory. just got around to going in today to my dealer. they will replace at my convenience, but they will only do a 'toe' adjustment afterwards. no adjustment to caster/camber. shouldnt they be checking and correcting all front end adjustments? they will have to take it out to a front end shop as their front end alignment machine will not accept a dually.

side note. my dealer installed mopar soft tonneau cover (about 7 months old) self destructed a few weeks ago during a rain storm. apparently water puddled on it till it bent the bows and broke the plastic corner braces. literally uninstalling itself, lol. today the dealer said it was warranted for 3/36 so im getting a new one when they do the front coil replacement.

What is adjustable?

My sources tell me that this is true. DC will only pay for a toe adjustment for either a ball joint replacement or spring replacement. HOWEVER, they should give you the option of a reduced price on a front end alignment if the caster and camber out out of tolerance since the toe adjustment is paid for by DC and they will have had to measure all of it to set the toe. On 2WD trucks you can set all three. Ken Irwin

It is my understanding that that front end allignments are covered under warranty for 12 months / 12,000 miles. I forgot to take mine in before the 12 months were up, so it didn't get done.

That is true... ... ... but you must have a verifiable concern to receive that alignment. DC is requiring a before and after alignment printout. .

Crud, I don't want those monkeys working on my vehicle again!

Last time they bent the top ac fins... ...

What's wrong with the spring supposidly???

Had ours done. Glad we did... Front end does not dip as bad as it used to. The letter read that the original springs were to light and the front end could possible suffer issues.

recall was for all 2wd ctd 2500 and 3500 trucks. the spring rate was too light front end would bottom out causing harsh jolts.

Does your truck sit any higher in front. I'm having the Daystar 2-1/2" spacers installed when they do my repair. But if the truck sit's taller I may not. Thanks.

GAllen, I wouldn't say it was any taller, just the ride quality is better. Ours is used in the business, so I only saw it for a litte while after the replacement before we put it back under the trailer.

Cat, IF there is any way you might be able to do it, the Kore is all it is cracked up to be... I put mine on about a month ago and all I do is grin when driving on those sh!tte socal freeways...

The absolutely most amazing thing to me about the Kore Chase is that it completely took the body roll out of this truck! UFB!

I spoke with my service writer at the dealer and specifically asked and will receive a FULL alignment. I asked for a copy of the spec's to see if they changed the spec's for the truck. The warranty instructions call for a full alignment. Replacing the coil springs WILL impact camber settings assuming the springs have sagged. This is often the cure on older vehicles with low camber. IE: ford twin I beams. I am an alignment tech and there is no way I would settle for a toe set only. If they can't do the alignment in house ask who they plan to sublet it to. Make sure they check the thrust angle and insist on a copy of the alignment that includes before and after readings along with the vehicle specs. I can make a vehicle drive very poorly and make it wear tires and still keep it "in spec" Most vehicle alignment specs are wide enough to drive an 18 wheeler thru the spec range.

Bob,Where can I check and see if mine is on the list. It sits on the stops right now and rides like crap!

Mike send me your VIN,I will ck it out.

The new springs measure the same as the old for height 14",but the front ends do come up a bit. The good news is if you are not covered under the recall these springs are priced right... . about 30 bucks a piece.
