There are two of the valves, one on either end (top) of tank, the revision should include a piece of hose on each one that extends to the edge of the tank. I think the hoses should have a 90% ell and run down the side of tank but what do I know. bg
2006 2500 4x4 quad cab short bed, and I have gotten a recall for fuel tank nipples and for antilock brakes, it says Dealer will clean fuel tank and install new fuel filter, as for brakes, something about rears locking up.
I just had my tank out to add the fuel vent mod to it. While it was down I saw the two vents on the top part of the tank. There was some crud around the front vent, lower part of the tank, from sepage of fuel and dirt. I bought 6 feet of 1/4" ID fuel hose and two 1/4" fuel filters. Run the hoses towards the rear of truck and tied the filters to the grap handle at top.
PS: I sure like the David Kelly vent mod. When filling up the tank after the first click the fuel was right there. I had around 2 gallons of fuel in the tank, after the mod I went to fill up and put in 35. 8 gallons. I will know for sure what this vent tank mod did for the overall capasity, with a few more fillups. My guess is 3. 5 gallons plus the 34 gallon tank, should put me at 37. 5 gallons total. This will put my range from 750 miles to a new range of 800 miles on one tank of diesel 23 MPG
