got a letter from my dealer last week stating that i had to bring in my truck to check something and it would take 1-2 hrs. stated it was not a recall but needed to be done. brought it in yesterday and was told that the factory had discovered that the freeze plugs were not properly inserted in certain vehicles with vin number between --- and ---. as it turned out i had to leave the truck all day since it couldn't be checked till it cooled down, the good news was that mine was ok and the better news was they gave me a hemi magnum to drive for the day- what a blast but now i have to buy one for my wife

This is an old thing. was originally called Rapid Response Recall.

Check old posts as they would run your engine from cold start up at full throttle  for 3 minutes to heat up as quick as possible and see if the freeze plugs would pop/leak.

I never had it done as I am not big on the dealer performing such a test, even after they called and insisted.

I already had 4000 miles of some hard pulling and themal cycling that it was and is a non issue.

Suprises me that they would still be doing this as this was done in the spring for a batch of trucks made from January to April (I think) and was to be done before the truck ever made it to the customer.

The wot is to build max pressure(t/stst closed) not to build heat. ;)
