Recall notice

My wife received a recall notice today to install a bracket to prevent the auto transmission from not fully engaging PARK (seems as though it keeps some bolt from backing out). Notice said that vehicle could engage and create a safety problem. I told her this was great, except that the recall states it is for DAKOTA, DORANGO, MAGNUM and a about 4 others... . NOT THE FIRST THING MENTIONED ABOUT RAM... . I seem to remember several people having this same problem on this forum. Sometimes, I just don't understand DC.....

I am guessing here but I think that is for the 5 spd transmission not the 48re. Probably a lot more of those out on the road than then the 4 spd.

DC's fix for that is a buzzer

I totaled an 04 in a lake that i did not set the parking brake, this alarm system would have helped prevent. I own an 05 3500. I contacted the dealer and Dodge about the voluntary recall but can not get an info. Do you have any suggestions ? I want the alarm on my 05. thanks, J. W.

Yes, I realize that Dakotas don't have the 48RE transmission. But it still amazes me that there is NOT a recall for what appears to be the very same problem. :--)

There was also a BALL JOINT recall on others as well. Seems lots of posts about ball joints also!
