I just picked up my 1st Diesel 2003 3rd Gen HO and I have a few questions on the engine Module recall. Is there a recall? I heard the Dealer is resetting the module. Why do they have to reset the module? is this going to help with performance? MPG? or is the module just bad?

The only "module" recall I have heard about deals with possible corrosion on one of the connectors. They inspect the connector. If there is no corrosion, they install an o-ring to prevent it. If they find corrosion, they replace the module.

Hope this is what you were talking about.

Also if you have an automatic, there is a recall on one of the transmission cooler lines.

There was a reflash for early '03 HO's with 6 speeds to correct a surging problem that happened right after cruise control use.

I had this C42 Recall-Powertrain control module done the other day. Was told the contacts were not corroded so O-ring seals were applied. However, on work order also had 1-CEH1C420 wiring-Powertrain control--- n/c in addition to an 58-W---N/C. Was wondering if the 1-CEH1C420 could be the module itself. I am going to check with tech. but would appreciate any advance info. Also would like to know where the module is located.

Thanks : Bob
