From what My buddy was told. If you have a block heater you will get the cold front.. Seems pretty dumb to not fix all of them.

The issue is the moisture from emissions freezes up in the intake causing a EGR code, which creates a very very rich fuel burn ( black smoke horrible mileage)
This at least from what we have seen is at sub zero temps and freeway driving. There must be enough motor bay heat in the city and when above zero to keep the intake from icing up.

Yeah, well, Dumb ME.
I was at the dealership this past week, for an oil change, and got involved with them on an issue about the TPMS system, and totally forgot to ask about the winter front issue. Anyway, I'm going to order the part from Geno's today, and install it as soon as received.
I'm not driving that truck a lot right now. But when we do use it, it's normally open highway and 60-70 MPH speeds. And we are getting sub-zero temps.
