TDR members!!
Respond quickly--- It is decision time-- About 10 days ago a member posted that there was a flash recall ( owner telephoned by selling dealer). I received the call-- Freeze plug problem with CTD's w/ vin between 4G 12x xxx and 4G 3xx xxx... Mine is 4G221260--- Vehicle must be left with the dealer over night to ensure a cold start the following morning. After start up the procedure is to run the engine WIDE OPEN:--) for an extended period of time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any thoughts on effect to engine regarding long term durability?
I think Cummins is going to have to address this issue for me before I allow anyone to twist my COLD CTD to WIDE OPEN for any period of time.
Right now if the freeze plugs drop out--- it's DC/Cummins problem. Unless there are some very strong assurances that the LONG term effect on my engine is NIL---- it isn't going to happen!
And the assurance is going to be in writing.....
Let me know your thoughts on this-------
