Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Recall

Just saw that they are recalling PT Cruisers for a fuel pump problem. Guess our trucks just aren't cute enough to get that kind of attention.

Could be that the average PT Cruiser owner isn't as friendly with the underside of a hood as we are.

And their forums aren't as informative.

Does anyone know what the problem is with the fuel pumps? I think it's pretty bad when I hear about the recalls on the news and TDR before I hear about them at work.

I believe the problem is electrical in nature, wires rubbing against something else that could ( I imagine already has) cause fires.



FYI they are recalling EVERY ONE ever built, according to the article I'm reading.



So no, this won't be for us anytime soon, the vehicle actually has to CATCH FIRE before they'll do anything for us!!
