Well I got a package from Calgary, Alberta the other day... I opened it up, and there in front of me was a brand new Psychotty Air. I think I heard angels singing in the background when I lifted it out of the box! #ad
Anyways, the PSA is top quality plastic, and will fit the RE-0880 filter perfect. The filter kinda just pops right in there, and doesn't move around. Plus with the PSA, I will not need to buy a filter "sock" for the K&N now! #ad
Can't wait to put it on my new ETH!

Evan-
Does it look like a quality product? I have visited the website and still undecided about buying.
Also since your here on your UltraLite gauges, how are they at night?????

Alaska-
Once you get it installed please update us on your first impressions, likes and or dislikes please.

Thanks!

Question,

How are you guys going to cut the hole in the firewall?

Drill, then jigsaw?
Do they make a metal hole saw that big?

Hmmm, Evan, now you've got me thinking about emailing Wee One of the North about getting one for myself. If you get a chance, maybe post a photo of your setup? With temps around 80 these days I already need a plan to keep exhaust heat away from my RE-0880 #ad

KatDiesel,

The PSA is a very high-quality accessory. It is pretty thick ABS plastic, and seems to be resistant to breaking (I did a few tests).

The Ultra-Lite gauges are great at night. I hooked them up to the dimming circuit, so I can control the brightness. The aluminum face and black numbers make things easy to see.

Vaughn, I will install the PSA on my new truck, after about a month. I just wanna make sure there's no little 'bugs' in the truck before I got cutting a 4. 5" hole in there!

Bill,

Yes, they do make a hole saw in the 4. 5" size. I have used hole saws up to 7" before. Milwaukee, Blu-Mol, and Lenox all make 4. 5" hole saws. DeWalt does too, if I am not mistaken. #ad

The install went easy. I followed the instructions included with the kit and was done in about 1/2 hour. The instructions called for locating the 4. 5 inch hole about a half inch from the edge of the flange near the passenger side hood hinge. I had to position my hole about 1. 25 inches from the edge of the flange because I couldn't fit the hole saw in there otherwise. The curled up bottom lip and bowed down top support brackets got in the way. Psychotty still fits "snug". It was a little tough finding the right combination for the angle of the dangle connecting hose hookup: My Psychotty ended up coming out at an angle direct in-line with the alternator (level with the ground) and the connecting hose loops down, around, and into the turbo. That fit seemed best. I kept trying to angle the filter down first, without good results. It clears the hood fine and leaves room (where the old filter was) for other neat stuff #ad
It was amazing how clean the area is where the air is going to come from. With a 4. 5 inch hole you can reach right in there. I was expecting it to at least have a dust layer but it was real clean! Looks like a great place to draw bombing air from. One of my employees came up to see what I was doing and I told him I was installing an AIR BOMB. His eyes glazed over #ad

HEMI - I went to my local hardware store and bought a shiny new 4. 5 inch hole saw blade. Cut a neat hole like butter.

Dislikes: None so far!

Evan-

Do you have any way of obtaining some pictures of your gauges at night? I am really curious how they look. I am already convinced thats what I wish to go with how ever it will be about another month before my pocketbook can support my gauges/VA/JRE 4" exhaust (this month $1800 to register the thing!). Thank you in advance.

Kat,

I will see if I can take a pic of them at night. It may be blurry, but it should still giove you an idea of what they will look like. $1,800 to register? Damn, that'sd a chunk of change. I just got my bill for my tabs... $130. It was $571 last year! #ad

I did't care for one of these PSA's when Evan was first telling me about them, but thursday night Evan stopped by my work and showed me the one he got. WOW! Now I see the concept behind the whole thing and it looks
way cool and trick. Now I won't mind drilling a hole in my cowl. I have a couple of BOMBs to get out of the way first, but I gotta have one of these.

Thanks Even I appriciate it. I am really curious to see them "in action at night". I have already made my mind up thats what I want tho. They just look cool to me #ad

And ya its $1800 to register my truck... Don't ever move to Nebraska! #ad

I want to send a check to Scott1 for a Psychotty Air induction system. Question, Does anyone know how much postage a letter needs to go to Canada from the US?

Thanks for the hole saw tips #ad

HEY; PUNK #ad
- or SCOTT1 #ad
, might be a gud idea to "rent" for a deposit the hole saw with the unit. Of course you could drive to the local weld shop and have them cut the hole with a plaz-cut or maybe the local electrician (not the PUNK #ad
) might "loan" you his. Scott1 - havent heard the price yet, is it on the web site??

Evan, let me know when you post the guage pics (still waiting for the plastic to hold the $$). Would like to see them in day and nite mode.

It's only 58 bucks to register in New Mexico, but don't move here anyway; everything else is psychotty. Anybody else see the post about the air intake hood conversion for something north of $1000??? Wonder how much that'll cut off my e. t. ? Talk about cool. #ad

You can cut the hole whatever way you see fit. I went the hole saw route to get a uniform hole.

I know that not all folks will want to go this way because of the cutting. However, I chose this way over my fender that lays here with holes in it beside the chopped up hood... I went STEALTH BOMB on this.

You can go to the loacl stero install shop and they will cut the hole for you for $10 or so.
Registration up here $200 for 2 (count 'em, two) years. Then, in Oct they plunk a cool $1760 in your checking account for you!
