My dealers saying I can't just buy the door, have to buy door already in new housing. Part no. 68004226AB anybody know for sure? Thanks.

Heatertreaterweb3 sells parts separately and has a procedure to replace the door without removing the HVAC assembly. I lost the door in my '03 last summer, haven't bothered to fix it, as the rest of the system is fine.

That is the only way it's available. Retail at $43. 00 for the assembly that should include a housing, door and motor.

That's what I did. Bought whole assembly off eBay. Just used servo and door though. Very easy repair. Works like a charm.

Can we assume that you replaced the door and actuator without removing the unit from the truck?

Yes. Just door and actuator. Installed the door through the fan location and actuator behind glove compartment. Six months ago and still doing fine.
