my truck has 285K on it i have had the nv4500 and t-case rebuilt by Blumenthals in OK about 10k miles ago.

It runs a little rough in the morning and blows light grey/white smoke i think mostly because of low engine temps and colder mornings. Power is still good and after warm up runs great.

My question is i am going to add some MODS for one a rip rok 4" exhaust strait pipe.

i think it would be a good idea to either rebuild the stock injectors cost ~$330 or buy 370's for $330 now i know this may be a no brainer but i am going to install the 3000 GSK and on the TST website it recomends the #4 plate i like the #5 numbers and can only guess i would like the #4's but i would like to stay with the stock clutch maybe if i slid the plate all the way back i could make my clutch last and i want to stay away from high egt's as much as posible.

what do you think should i rebuild the stock injectors or replace with 370's

......

If your truck has never has timing set, checked, or changed that you know of this would be a good thing to do regardless of what you do later. Older years like yours have really low timing from the factory even if it is still at that setting. You will really notice less smoke, much snappier running when cold and better mpg.

As far as your upgrade path, 215 injectors out of a 96 on up 5sp are really nice with out any side effects. 370s are cheap and will make nice power.

With the plate... . I would look at the #10. Don't look at the power rating. It works the best with GSK kits and is very contollable on the power side. With the plate move forward and/or those 370 injectors you will still have all the power you need. A #4 is another great GSK plate but much more fueling in the upper rpms range.
