What is a good code scanner for our trucks?

the smarty is also a code scanner. I've used it and it shows codes that don't show up with the key. I have looked at the actron ones and I really like them, even though I didn't buy one yet. You can get good prices on ebay etc.

We need the scanner that reads OBDII codes correct?
