My truck has started to haze in the mornings,,the stock injectors have about 300,000 miles on them so they are probably due to be changed,,

I am looking for a replacement injector close to stock,,mild HP increase is ok,,

I have to pass an annual emmison opacity test so they cant smoke too much,,as long as i can turn up the tension on the AFC spring and pass thats ok.

Can anybody reccommend any good injectors,,no made in china crap please,,,or high dollar performance injectors,,

Thanks

I have not ran a set myself, but the DDP injectors are on everyone's "must have" list. You have 4 different levels of power increase with the added benefit of better fuel mileage and no smoke.

i had a set of 330 marine's and went to a set of ddp IIs, slightly less smoke (in general but i can roll coal with less effort) and less then 1 more mpg, maybe a hair more egt, i think the 330s hit harder from a 60 mph top gear stomp, i am not unhappy with my choice but not sure if id popped $600 on injectors that didn't need to be changed and are not that big of a improvement if id known more before hand. 330s go for around $325 or so delivered on ebay the last time i looked, i can't speak for truck configurations other then mine with 215 pump (plate full forward is the source of the coal :-laf ) and 5 speed but they work well from my experience

ps i haven't had time to try to tweak the plate and afc for the ddp's for the coming comments i predict :D

As far as I know, I have a stock plate, in the stock position. AFC moved forward, timing at 16*. smoke is minimal under boost, lugging I can blow a little. Not bad in my opinion.

I have DD2's which are almost the same as DDP2's and a #10 plate. I also have to pass an opacity test and out here it is done loaded on a rear wheel dyno. I passed well under the maximum opacity limit.

The park test should be easier. The reason Nevada went to the dyno method was. So they could load the engine to get higher smoke output. My truck was not tuned properly and in my opinion way to smokey and it still passed easily. I have had it retuned and even with the plate and injectors it has very light on the smoke unless you really get into it hard.

I bought dynomite diesel injectors stage 2- 75hp increase and am having trouble with them.
My truck has been at crosspoint Cummins for 3 days now. Had 2 injectors that were not poping right so they overnighted 2 to the cummins shop. Well I still have a problem and cummins wants them to send 4 more new ones. Cummins said they checked everything and thats all it can be. Now I have to wait for Dynomite Diesel to respond. I'm going to have some service bill !!!!!!

Like I said on your other thread, I have had no issues at all with mine. Maybe you should have reinstalled your originals before you took it to the dealer. Just my . 02 worth.

It's a good idea to service or replace the injectors after 300K miles but there are a number of other things that can be causing your idle haze. Have you serviced your prefilter, checked your fuel heater for leaks and gone over the fuel fittings around the lift pump and preheater/filter? It takes very little air being drawn in to cause idle haze.

well,,i just did a fuel filter change. . but the fuel drain broke in the filter,,so my machinist made me a nice billet aluminum one with a nice little valve,,,went to clean the pre-filter bowl,,but the bottom nut was chewed up,,so i took an old socket,,cut 4 slots in it and used on the flange of the bottom of the bowl,,after all this i needed a new starter too,,so got one from a local rebuilder with a good reputation that i used before,,got home,,put starter in,,click,,no start,,take it back to the starter shop,,they test it on the bench and it worked,,got back home,,put it in again,,click ,,no start again. . checked all wires and relays,,all check out,,so a good friend whos a electrical wiz comes over,,so i go to show him and click,,it starts... now i look like an idiot,,then we chat,,and before he leaves i try it again,,click,,no start,,so he goes under,,checks everything and it all looks good,,then he grabs a hammer and taps on the starer and that fires it up,,so the new rebuilt starter is no good,,back to square one. .
And the saga continues. .

Maybe DDP should of tested them before they sent them out to me. Junk and I'm not the only one who says so. There customer service said a few unhappy customers out a few thousand is pretty good. I say no unhappy customers is the goal. I'm shipping this junk back tommorow and we'll see how long it takes for a refund. !300 dollars worth of labor to find out there junk.

Sorry to hear about SMalafy's bad experience with DDP. I have had the DDP Stage Is for a little over a year now, and like them a lot. They are supposed to give about a 50 hp increase, but I haven't dyno'd since I put them in. It doesn't feel like that much, but I mainly bought them for the increased efficiency. I think they have given me about a 1 1/2 -2 mpg increase, particularly in the 60 - 65 mph range.

Smoke isn't too bad. I was more concerned with the EGTs at max fueling during our 60 - 40 mph lug down opacity test here in CO, so I slid the plate back a little. I think I'll try cranking down the starwheel to bind up the AFC this year, and see how that affects the EGTs.

Good luck with your injector search.
