Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

Competition eastcoast pulling furthur (WHY?)

Competition TIE!! Still winless....and..Sled Settings...

Based on my Mods listed in my signature, what would the best bet for pulling?

It is an auto trans.

Should I put it in Drive, 2nd?

Turn OD off or on?

Put it in 4H 4L?

For launching I normally build boost to 10? MOre or less?

Thanks

Super Swamper TRXUS STS Radials

EEEEEEKKKKKK !!!!

Skyjacker Lift

Double EEEEEKKKKKKK !!!!!

Looks like you have the power With your mods ...

But for your first pull you want to use a less agressive Tire ..... just swap a friend for the night.

Complete DTT Trans

All Right ... . Lowrange 1st then grab 2nd then 1st

Hold foot on brake when chain is tight and build your boost a little then let her have it.

That works ... ..... Buddy gained 8Ft doing a boosted Launch . same day same track Same every thing.

If the lift Makes you bounce your in trouble and more chance for bouncing with aggressive tires

... ... ... MY OPINION PRECEEDS

Disclaimer:

Not set in stone ... Not a professional just been pulling trucks since I was 14 . Will not pull my '02

Good Luck

Odviously you weren't in Indy last weekend DM. SEVERAL trucks were running using the STS tires including a few Mod/Open trucks.

The STS are the wavy sand tread looking one and they did quite well on the pulling track. ;) :p :-laf

Track must of been mighty Soft .

Try using those on a Hard track unless you have a BOO-KU of HP your Hosed.

I guess Mitchell Has the Power To Turn The bar treads and thats why those big indy guys use the slicks .

Hey Who Said That !!

But Seriously a first time puller Is better off with Less agressive tires ... if the track conditions arent right for agressive tires it will get ugly but with less agressive tires on a soft track you wont get as far but its safe ... and on a hard track you will kick butt while the others with agressive tires are picking up there pieces . .

..... Opinion Preceeds

Use A Non Agressive tire and adjust you tire pressure for the track . Tire Pressue is a big deal !!!!! Once you have a few pulls under your belt and you have the power then look into agressive tires ... . with gassers it was always the more agressive the better ... but with diesels thats not always the answer.

All Terrains are all you need

This definitely isn't dieselfreak2's first time pulling! He's been having some problems this year though, and I know he's willing to listen to anything anyone will tell him. I saw his truck nail several full pulls last year, same setup (except injectors), but this year, nothin, I think he's getting frustrated.

I thought he was a newbie to pulling.

Around here there must be a 30-1 ratio on CTD PULLERS with All Terrains VS Mud Terrains ... a wheel speed game get that sled moving and let the momentum carry you ... your not going to hoss it down the track with a good bite and slow acceleration.

Will,,,,,Love your Sig ... . ROFLMAO

frustratrd you could say that , thats putting it mildly! :-{} . since i got rid of my bully dog injectors truck aint doing s**t at the pulls! you figure when you replace something with a better quality part you should have better results, guess that is not the case!im not impressed with the injecters i am running now!!!!!!!!!!!i know a lot of you are running them but i just dont see what is soo great about them???seems like i should have stayed with a stock vp44 too. :-{} . well guess i am done *****ing for now. :{ :{ :{

df,

I have been staying in 4h. Better wheel speed, but also more stress. This is with 4. 10s and 285'. And 600hp on a single. No juice, leaving at high boot,

Chris Watts here in Ky. has the same suspension and tire combo and has been pulling 1st or second in almost every event he enters (several)

I believe His clutch got him at IRP but would have put on a good show otherwise.

I think the sts have a lower void ratio than the BFG at's from the looks of them. I don't see a reason other than diameter for why they wouldn't work equally well.
