Recommendations for Compact Diesel Tractor

And for my first ever post.
You might find something to look at with a Kioti tractor. It's a Kubota clone without the high$. Traded my bota in on one 3 years ago and have worked it's tail of with no problems.

For new, you might consider a Millenium. Been out for a couple years now. They use Kubota motors and Yanmar (aka JD) drivetrains is my understanding.

Penrose Manufacturing in Penrose CO, had the best price on a package I have ever seen. Brand new 43hp diesel 4x4, hydrostatic transmission, every 3pt attachment known to man (auger, blade, box scraper, mower, and a backhoe, plus others I am probably forgetting), and a loader. All the attachments were Great Bend, Kelly, or Land Pride. $24K. Beautiful, high-quality tractor, kind of maroon in color.

Used? I'm partial to the big green ones, I have a mid-1970's 60hp 2030 diesel. I thought it might be too big at first, but now I am convinced size does matter. Moving dirt and 800lb squares, and 1300lb rounds with the loader off a stack, would not be possible with a smaller tractor. I would buy something smaller if I didn't have all the leveling work and and baling work, but the size so far has not caused any issue with maneuvering or accessibility.

wrward,I think what you are talking about is what's called a gray market Kubota. The Chinese took some Kubota's apart and copied them(they also tried this with the first 747s they got from Boeing)Obviously Kubota and Boeing weren't going for this and the Chinese were forced to quit their patent infringements. The Kiota's are no longer available,have no warranty,parts or service unless some Kubota parts fit and were a crappy thing for the Chinese to try to pull off in the first place.
That is if we are talking about the same thing,some of the Chinese copies also made it in with the Kubota name on them for reduced prices,but on close inspection they were cheap junk.

I'm a believer in Kubota's. I have two. A B7200, and a new L4310HST. Definitely consider hst if doing a lot of loader work. Simple to operate, and I would never go back to a gear trans. Kubota's hold up extremely well, and will hold their resale value. You can check out this site for discussions;

FATCAT, the last time I looked the B21 TLB went for around 26k. I'm not sure but I believe it will also except all 3-point accessories... I think. At the time I was looking at new tractors I was primarily interested in purchasing the bigger brother of the B21 which was not hydro drive... it had their new generation 8-speed transmission. It went for 34k as the TLB although, I was going to purchase it without the backhoe for about 25k.

Wrongo. The Kioti is made in Korea. They have been in the tractor business since 1947 and importing to US for 15 years. They have a warehouse in Portland. They also have come out with 5 new models in the last 2 years.
It's red and blue not gray. I loved my John Deere and ford and my Bota. But they all got entirely to pricy. For the value Kioti beat them, the only difference I can tell between all of them is the name recognition. There was only the Belarus that gave you more power per $.

Kubota, I used to be a mechanic in a shop that sold Kubotas and some small john deers
I have never seen a hydrostat falure in the kubota and the engines are tough. they use the kubota 4 in Bob cats!! I own a 10 yr old 2850 and have had no problems. Do not buy a black market (illeaglly imported) one the service and parts are differnt and harder to get.

Thank you everyone for the advice and information on companies and their web sites. I have decided to go with a new Kubota B2710 with loaded and 72" rear mower.
Kubota has a very good rep. and quality service in my area (though I like the prices and info form Carver Equip in North Carolina). The JD's seem to have too many problems with their 4000 series, and forget the gray market China machines, way to scary if you need parts and service. Thank you again for all your help.
