I know I'am cutting corners here posting this and not looking through days of lift pump talk.

This is what I have going on:

I have an 01 24 valve and a friend of mine has a 98 24 valve. We both ordered gauges and pods and they're on the way, so at this point we don't know what psi is right now. Both trucks have between 55,000 and 65,000 miles on them and are on the original factory pumps. We decided that it would be a good idea to replace the original lift pump regardless of what the psi is, (since they're original lift pumps).

I was told that the Carter auxillery pump ( I think it's called a black top) would be good to run with the original lift pump. Is this the way to go ?.

Is it best to run an auillery pump / pusher pump alongside the primary lift pump?. How long should these replacement lift pumps / auxillery pumps last ?

What would you guys recommend ??????????

I would just like to make the right decision the first time as we are doing two trucks.

I would appreciate your replys !!!

Thanks !

Matt

I've seen a lot of people replace the stock lp with a FASS 2 or a complete FASS and mount it in front of the rear drivers side tire. Seems to work awesome with no problems. It supposedly eliminates FP problems. Sounds good to me. Thats what I'm going to do I think. Good luck
