My Dad is having surging issues with his 03 305 hp 3500. He is working in Texas and doesn't know the area. After searching on here it looks like the "Hot Rod Diesel Shop" may be the top choice.

He has 80K on the truck and its stock except for the Edge Attitude. He has fuel leaks around the back injectors, loss of power, surging under all conditions.

I've looked at it in the past and I figure its a leaky fuel line at maybe two injectors. The ones the dealer replaced last year. So, he is looking for a shop to replace the injectors and fix the fule line leaks. Its been getting rough running lately. I'm trying to get him to upgrade the trans too. The dealers haven't been any help, just making it worse and blaming it on the Edge. He runs it in stage 1 since the trans is stock. Got it for the EGT and Boost mostly.

He is in Conroe, TX and is looking for a shop to get him back to smooth running. Stage one injectors, probably a FASS and a trans upgrade. Any ideas?

Well, tried Relentless and came up short. Didn't want the work, gave no reason why. Waste of a trip for my Dad.

He asked for injectors and a FASS system. Are their any shops in the area that can handle such a huge job. I guess the next try will be around Houston. I just don't get the deal with Relentless, called and made an appointment, rented a car and dropped the truck off to get the FASS and the injectors installed and they didn't touch it. Didn't order parts, nothing.

My Dad has cash, told them to call if it goes over $8,000, I don't get it. Don't have some one drop off their truck if you have no intention of working on it! Injectors are what? $400 per, a FASS is $700, plus labor... . Then the guy wants a trans too.

My Dad needs a shop that will actually do the work needed, any out there in Texas? His injectors have 80K on them and they are getting worse, surging, one is leaking, low on power.

shop for work on 03

Give me a call, I'm a bit further away, but maybe I can help with the engine issues, pretty sure I can take care of the trans upgrades for sure. I am closer to Dallas. My number is 972-467-3702.

Call Bub at WW Transmissions in Spring, TX, just south of where you are at. In my opinion he is the best trans man in the business. Back in the 90's I worked for him we did engine repairs to. He is a honest guy and always had work backed up because people would wait for him rather then take it somewhere else. If he can't get to it he might know where to go. His number is (281) 350-4306 tell him that Dean from Tuff Trucks says hi.

I live close enough to Conroe that my kids are in CISD schools. I had my transmission work done at Hot Rod Diesels and consider the 90 mile drive well worth the trip for drive train issues bigger than I care to tackle myself. The quote on the bottom of their service tickets says it all: "home of the 11 second work truck". Michael's very easy to talk to. Suggest giving him a call and decide for yourself if he can help you: 832-932-1432

Thanks for the info guys, Dad is calling around for a transmission upgrade. I'll pass on the phone numbers. He did find a Cummins shop to fix the fuel leak. It was a cracked injector line. Sounds like a good shop, they charged him $86. 00 for the line plus labor, I think it was $226 OTD. Sounds much better than the dealer option.

The next step is the transmission upgrade and Air Dog. Hopefully he can get it done around the Conroe area, thanks for the phone #'s.

We had to upgrade the service tickets.

While the truck is still technically used for running parts on occasion, it's hardly a true work truck.

However, it is now "Home of the 10 second daily driver" :D
