Best part of Washington State is East of the Cascades. Too damn many weird people on the West side and it rains to much. Nice side to visit and camp however. Washington currently has it's problems, but name a state that doesn't. All you have to do is go one state south and find a state with more problems than we have.

One of the advantages of the Northwest is that Les Schwab is everywhere. I'll always buy my tires there simply because of their quality and service. No matter where you buy them, you can take them to any Les Schwab store and they'll take care of you no questions asked. I once had to stop in Lapine Oregon because by front end was vibrating like crazy. They did a quick balance and everything was fine after that.

Have a nice day everyone!

I suspect there would even be some who would be unhappy with st. Peter, but having delt with and known many others who deal with or work for Schwab for 30+ years, I think you can not find a better place to do business. The very few times I have had to go back with a problem, they acted like they were EAGER to take care of it in a way that satisfied me.

No, I (nor any of my relatives), have any relationship with them.

I've had major problems with Schwab, like the time they unhooked my 30' gooseneck trailer without my knowledge then reconnected it without the safety pin and chain, trailer came off less than a quarter mile from their shop, major damage. Just a couple of weeks ago I brought them a tractor tire for repair that had 800 lbs of calcium ballast in it, they tried to give it back with just air.

Never the less they made good on all the damage, even fired the guy in the trailer incident. I still use Schwab. You just have to watch their work, sometimes they try to go too fast.

I like to increase the tire wieght in my small 25 hp tractor, Where do you get the calium and how is put into the tires, currently the tires are water filled.

thanks joe

Joe, Schwab is the place to go for calcium. If your tires are tubeless best go for some tubes as the calcium is very corrosive to the rims. They just mix up a bag(s) of calcium chloride powder with water and pump it in the valve stem while venting air. Calcium is much heavier than water plus it doesn't freeze solid in cold weather.

Schwab can also fill your Ag tires with urethane foam that is much heavier than calcium. You tell them how much psi you want in the tire and that's it - a solid rubber tire that still provides cushioning, you'll never get another flat tire. You lose your tire for a week though as they ship them to Oregon once a week to do it. I have all my tractor front tires foamed because they're more prone to flats than the rears. A tire about the same size as the ones on our Rams will weigh over 200 lbs with the foam, but only around 100 lbs with calcium.

When my Rubbermaid wheelbarrow used to live in the back of my last truck (while we were developing our property), I received a flat tire at precisely the wrong time. I purchased a new wheel/tire assembly from a local feed store, took it and my wheelbarrow to Les Schwab and had the existing tire patched while I ran some errands and had the new tire/wheel sent out to be foam filled. I hardly missed a beat, had a backup plan in the works and changed over to the foam filled counterpart as soon as it arrived back (approximately 1 week).

I couldn't believe it, that foam they injected into the little wheelbarrow tire increased the weight by 15 lb. ! (:eek: ) One good side effect though...

when the wheelbarrow was pushed while unloaded, it no longer bounced all over the place each time it hit a rock or uneven surface (read: everywhere! at my place... :D ).

Siping, uh seeing is believing.

Take at look at the Schwab job I got on my tires.

Side siped

I put the properly siped front tires on the rears and have NO troubles for the past 20k miles. I even added a #4 plate.

Funny thing is I have friends that had problems with More S#$%^, uh Les Schwab but still go back. Go figure
