Recommended Way to jack front end to get both tires off the ground

Hi All,

Hope this doesn't sound like too stupid of a question but does anybody have a recommended way to jack up the front end of the truck with a single floor jack to get both front wheels off the ground?

I was trying to find the best location on the axle but the location of the housing makes it a bit awkward.

It's just to help with lubricating the front drive shaft. If I have to use jack stands I can as well.

You should only have to pull 1 tire off the ground to get the driveshaft to spin.

If you want to pull the front off the ground with a single jack I would use a jack stand and jack each corner.

With an open front diff you only need one tire off the ground,but for safety sake you should always use jack stands.A jack can fail leading to disaster.Many jacks aren’t capable of lifting the entire weight of the front end so you may as well lift one side at a time.When it comes to jack stands be sure they are rated for the weight of your truck.There are cases where off shore built jack stands have failed.Go quality to be safe

Appreciate the comments about safety/quality first. Will use a stand and give it a try.

I use a 12 ton bottle jack and jack stands to raise my truck, haven't used a floor jack for many years. The bottle jack allows room to get the stand in place, especially on the front with 4wd.
