Back when Dodge made TRUCKS......

Checked for Off-Road Diesel Today

Go to bankspower.com and download the videos of this truck... Be sure to turn up the volume, because this truck sounds sweeeeeeet... :D

Lots of groundbreaking R&D went into this truck... Thats good for us because there will be some pretty cool stuff coming out for the ISBe before too long!

One of our own, Jeff Garmon of Garmon Diesel Performance in McDonough, GA was one of the first, if not the first, to stuff a Cummins in a Dakota. I like his better :D and feel it's a more significant accomplishment. The truck is very nicely done... . and FAST !

That is old news. Where is Bank$ when you ask them a point blank question about their claim their products not voiding the warranty. They are like cockroaches. They come out when something is in a favorable light for them, but hide when it is not.

Disclaimer: not affliated with bank$ and won't use their crap.

in the future my truck might not run 222mph but it is going to smoke lots of smokers and maxipads despite a 1000# disadvantage. i say all this to say Edge comp rules :)

I still find it hard to believe everyone has such a bad attitude toward Banks. Yes, their products are pricey, but I really don't see that as a reason to bash the hell out of them. Beyond that, they have made quite an achievement with their recent record, not to mention all the work that has been done on the new ISBe engine used in the truck. I REALLY like what I see with the VGT and hope that thier work might trickle down to others and open up this avenue a little more. Give them some credit, they have been around awhile and obviously know what they are doing.

Disclaimer: not affiliated with Banks, or any other vendor. Don't want to be. Don't use their stuff. Just have an appreciation for the work that they have done, and hope everyone can gain something from it.

Eric,, They have good products, Yah, their stuff is pricey, and some of it useless, Like Stainless Steel Exhaust, and the High Rise Ram Air intake, they do have some good stuff for the 12V's (the dual intake (can't remember name) is good.

The problem has to do with the lies and avoiding serious questions.

Banks claims their stuff will NOT Void warrenty, and when it came time to step up to bat, they struck out,, they went around in circles, wanted lawyers, and the customers were left with a broken truck, at a Dodge dealership, no warrenty anywhere, and nowhere to turn but their own wallets.

Then, next day, same thing, Banks claims High HP boxes 100% warrenty safe.

A customer of mine has a banks kit, he likes it, it's equivalent to an EZ, and he has the 4" Exhaust,, his clutch is just about to start slipping bad @ 30,000 miles (it slips in 6th under load), Banks didn't mention anything to him that the "box" might be pushing his stock clutch to the limit.

Voiding warrenties, and avoiding inquiries about questionable business practices, and overly priced, and useless products are a few reasons TDR members have grown to have a large dis-like for Banks.

On the other hand,,, there are MANY, MANY people with Dodge/Cummins with Banks kit's on them, and are extremely happy with them.

TDR Members are a rarer breed,, you won't find a group of car (truck) fanatics as well informed, or as willing to fight what they know is right as here on this board. If a produc can be bought for $800 and somebody is selling it for $1,200,, the $1,200 is gonna get bashed here, and then what happens when the $1,200 seller lies to you about effects his product will have... . ?

Welcome to the TDR.

BTW, Banks is pushing the limit on Cummins technology,, and Like Evan said,, "Groundbreaking research",,,, good stuff will be coming from them in not too long, but the company policies remain the same.

(If you want '03 performance stuff,, there are many other vendors that allready have 100HP boxes, and 100HP injectors for the 3rd Gen Dodge/Cummins ISBe) Atleast 4 companies are coming to mind that manufacture '03 performance parts.

Hope this helps yall,, feel free to correct me where I'm wrong.

Mr. Cummings,

Amen brother:) Thank you banks for proving that the ISBe is the badest diesel engine made... ... but we already knew that. Banks,if you are listening, a word of advice dont discredit what is said on this board there are only 30,000 possible customers.

I am not affiliated with any box company i dont even have one on my new truck but at this point the EZ people have treated me like their buddy and have not lied to the TDR crowd and that is why their company has grown hundreds of % honesty, quality, affordability Banks get these and you will have the dodge crowd back..... you cant see me but i am getting off of the soap box now, brother Cummings got me fired up:-laf

Well I still think Banks sucks... period. People ask me all the time when they see my 500hp stickers, "Do you have a Banks kit?" I have to calmly reply no, Banks will give you maybe 300rwhp with their best kit so no this ain't no freakin banks kit!!! There is a reason Banks says it won't void your warranty... their kit ain't got any balls!! And if we are talking value, Banks is absolutely the worst bang for your buck. This is the truth not my opinion. And I have a feeling Jeff's dakota would spank the hell out of the banks dakota on the drag strip.

Can't get a response from bank$

Well said CumminFast. I still want to know where these bank$ guys are when it comes to defending their "claims" about NOT voiding the warranty? It seems the sales and marketing guys are guick to jump on and start numerous threads on different diesel boards when they set the speed record. Where are they hiding now when it comes to answering questions about warranty work????????

Disclaimer: not affliated with bank$ and won't use their CRAP.

Warranty claims aside, I have to thank Banks for their research with diesels. When I bought my Cummins in '95, I did a lot of research trying to find ways to improve the power. Think back to '95 when the internet was just starting to get going. No TDR that I knew of and the only place I could learn about performance was in Trailer Life or MotorHome magazines. I poured over every article that came out. In the back pages were ads for Banks and TST. I have to admit, Banks spent more on advertising and their reputation helped them recieve my money.

Their products were, and still are, a bit pricy, but did what they advertised. Nowhere did they claim 100hp increases from the rear wheels. The products I purchased did what I wanted. Only later when a few crazies like Joe D and HVAC came along did I realize there was much more horsepwer available. :D

Would I do it all over again? Yep! If I bought a truck now, there are so many more choices when purchasing add-ons. I'm sure I could get the same increases in HP for cheaper than you would pay for Banks stuff. So what! I would probably buy 370 injectors and a plate with a HX40 and clutch for less than I paid for Banks top kit. But then again, I've been having a lot of fun since '95 when everybody else had slugs. ;)

I agree. Why do so many feel the need to bash BANK$? Fine, if you have a problem with their marketing-- but that is between YOU and BANKS. No need to poison the board. Their products are pricey, yes, but some are of very good quality. Some are not. My own PERSONAL experience with Banks has been good, as far as how they treated me, even though I told them they probably were NOT the product I was looking for. They didn't rip into me when I identified myself as a TDR member, nor did they slam the TDR, other than to say that we are sometimes "intense" --which none of us will deny.

I will probably never buy a Banks product, nor do I really care if anyone ever does. I am bothered by people needlessly slamming one thing or another without a real cause. IF you have had a bad BANKS experience, then that is for you and BANKS to handle. If you have NO firsthand experience with BANKS, but are parroting someone else's bad words, then just be aware of what you are doing.

If someone was asking "has anyone ever had a bad experience withy Banks?" then this would all be appropriate. It's bad form to just hop on the slam-Banks bandwagon without cause.

I have my own gripes with ANYONE who uses magnusen moss or whatever it's called. I also have other gripes with certain marketing practices.

IF I EVER bought a BANKS product (and I stress *IF*), it wouldn't be because of warrantee considerations or best bang for the buck. It would simply be that I though that they made an excellent product (I. E. stainless exhaust), and that the price was FAIR.

I have a million options right now, and Banks most likely is the last on the list.

Sorry for my ignorance, but I figure ANYTHING (including oil filters, oil, different tires) can be traced back to the original failure if the dealer wants to. I think they (the dealers) have gotten very good at finding something (read: ANYTHING) on your truck that is 'aftermarket' and inherently caused the problem you are seeking to have fixed free of charge (read: warranty).

Dealer: So, you say your truck won't run. That's wierd. I see you have an aftermarket radio. We traced the problem back to a wire you missed when it was installed, which has adversely affected the eninge. Sorry, not our problem. Better luck next time.

Are all dealers like this? I hope not, but I have dealt with some that have. That's why I don't use them anymore. But back to my point, anyone who upgrades their truck in any way, shape, or form, might as well get used to the idea of "I am my own warranty station. " But this too, is old news.

The fact that Banks has stated that their products will not void an existing warranty is bad news, and they really should know better, which is obvious due to all the bad press here.

Bottom line: they still have the record. I would really like to see a dragrace between the two dakota's. Though I am not familiar with the company that owns the blue one, I'd be rooting for them over the Big Business Banks. I've always had a soft spot for the anti-engineer. "Sure, you've got computers and fancy shops, and stuff, but this is what WORKS. "

This kind of got out of hand, and I hope I don't come off as an a$$hole. As stated earlier, I don't care if you buy Banks or anyone elses stuff, I just think we can all benefit from the work being done to further the diesel engine. Sorry again if I pi$$ed anybody off.

Gale Banks will be at the Executive Inn Hotel in Louisville Kentucky on Feb. 14 a. m. doing a live talk. The Sidewinder truck will be on display.
