We have lost an innovator in the Diesel world.

I've always kept records of repairs on my vehicles, and when I did oil changes, etc. But hearing more and more stories of DC being tough / playing the blame game for most problems with the trucks (that should be warranty), I am going to start keeping records (receipts) of every fuel up, oil purchase, oil change, purchases for other fluid changes, etc. Receipts will show who purchased from and when, should be pretty gopod evidence if I ever have a problem. PITA, but necessary, it sounds like.

Any suggestions on other items to keep receipts for, or how y'all keep your records??

I use the excel spreadsheet I found on this site. I put in all details of my purchases, including sales tax etc. . Between the excel SS and my $$ Money program I have all records, to back up the services done. I can also get a copy of the services done at my local oil change garage.

If you can't find the SS PM me I will forward a blank copy to you.

I have a folder I keep all reciepts in. When I get fuel I take the reciept and put it in the center console, then when I change oil I take all the fuel reciepts and put them in the folder. I keep track of work done on the truck in the manual and in a computer program. If they try to deny my warranty at least I can dump a ton of paper on their desk.
