Red Security Light Staying ON

[Why Not]

So tonight after dinner my 06 Mega started right up, but the red security light on the dash came on and it staying on. There has been no flashing, just solid light.

The truck ran fine all the way home, about 15 miles with no issues. I tried a couple time turning it off and restarting and the light comes on as soon as the truck starts.

Also, I can't lock or unlock the doors with the key, but I can with my remote start system fob.

The keys are new about a year ago. Had them programmed and never had an issue. The remote start/alarm system is new about 4 months ago. It is a viper aftermarket system.

I have owned the truck now for 3 years and from time to time I have had issues with the key's not wanting to lock or unlock the doors, but nothing that really never flagged a problem. The truck had a remote start system on it before I upgraded to the alarm system.

ANY IDEAS???

I have not found anything that points me a specific direction tonight doing a search.

SO, here is an update!!!

Unhooked the negative posts on the battery for about 15 minutes. After hooking everything back up, my key fob works and the light is off!

Still not sure what happened!!!

The ECU OS is written by MS, it needed a reboot.

Finally got in contact with my buddy at the dealer. He said yeah it happens and if the battery trick works, I am good until next time. When it happens and won't clear and starts not allow the truck to start it will require 1 of both as they don't know which one is causing it. It will require a new instrument cluster and a new WCM. I asked about just replacing one or the other and was told that if I do and it happens again, Dodge will not warranty just the one part I replaced. Also told me that my remote start system will cause problems like this on my Dodge. The WCM will act up because of the remote start system. So far so good!!!
