Red valve cover deal

I had to have one of those cool red Cummins valve covers so I beat the bushes and found a decent deal. Ron Hale, asst parts mngr at Trans west Truck Center in Fontana, Ca. said he would sell them for $95. 00 plus shipping.
You must talk to him for the deal, and he also said there is no supply problem at this time. I told him I would be putting this on the website so it should work okay.

I paid $101 at Cummins NW.
Funny thing is they say there is a supply problem, but if you pay the extra 13 dollars, they can find one and have it there in two days!
I think Evan bought his first... paid about 90 dollars back then.

Anything over the 101 dollar price is probably too much!

Where can you find chrome covers? I've looked at several sites but haven't been able to find anything. I saw a picture of a truck with a chrome valve cover (just the top plate, not the jugs themselves) and the red cummins letters on top. I think I might need one of those. My truck hasn't been running right lately and someone told me a chrome valve cover would solve it #ad

Never heard of a place you can get chrome ones... its more of a do-it-yourself project. But, why would you want a chrome one when you can have a RED one? Worse yet, why would you chrome a red one???

The red valve cover is nothing so special... just a different look for us. It is slightly heavier made than a Dodge valve cover, not that it makes any difference...

I got mine for $89 way back in May '00. I think I was the first to have one, as my Cummins dealer had never heard of putting one on a Ram before. When I first decided to do it, it took them a while to get the right part number, as there are several different versions available. Whenever I show off my engine, everyone always asks where they can get one of the snazzy red covers. Seems to be a big hit.

Also, the red paint they use is very tough and resistant to heat. I have over 40,000 miles on my red cover, and it still looks like it did the day I put it on. #ad
