Anyone know of a Cummins dealer with one of the 24V red valve covers in stock? I tried to get one locally, and they said Cummins has them on B/O with no delivery date in sight. Any help is appreciated!
saw one on e-bay a couple of days ago, I went to the parts and accessories section and typed in Ram in the search, allot of pages of stuff will come up but it was in there.
Thank you very much to everyone who posted here. I was able to locate the cover and at a great price via my local Freightliner dealer. It had to be ordered, but no freight. Thanks again! You guys are the best!
I went to my local cummins dealer here to ask about the red cover and they showed me that they are painting the black covers red (the same red paint used on the red covers), and taking a grinder and grinding the top off where is letterd and it looks super sharp. They sell the red paint to.
DO NOT BID ON THAT VALVE COVER LISTED IN THE POST ABOVE ON E-BAY!!!! It is the wrong valve cover for a Dodge Ram! Look at the oil cap hole... it's on the back-end. That cover is for a 5. 9 motorhome. If you try installing it on a Ram, the oil cap will be underneath the cowl and you can't put oil in it.
Good call Mike, i just noticed that about the cap. Would be a real pain to have to drill a hole in your dashboard and add oil that way from the cab. Has anybody emailed the guy selling it and told him?
That valve cover Rob Hanson has from Northwest Customs is cool. Great idea for a really personalized touch. I liked the idea of the Cummins name on the cover as opposed to Dodge and opted for the “Red” cover, then stripped, polished and painted the letters red. It came out decent. If you want to go the next level, then do what John did and chrome it. You have to admit that even the stock valve cover looks better than some other brands! Imo.
