RDPDiesel :: Transmissions Built Right Nice site. Never used them / heard of them - obviously I'm in PA.

Question - what's the price on the "Stock Rebuild" and etc. ?

Shop around, strongly look at customer service, stands behind their product and read lots of posts here before you decide.

Call:

Diesel Transmission Technology - DTT Performance Diesel Transmission and Power Accessories

Sun Coast Converters Diesel Transmissions, Fort Walton Beach FL

Goerend Transmission Incorporated

Just to name a few.

im going to give Redline a call tomorrow and get some info. i need better than stock, my trans only has 25k miles and its going. it was replaced under warranty. i put a good convertor in it but didnt do anything else. i have an extra 47re that i was thinking of having rebuilt for towing and mods. i checked the vendors you mentioned but i dont want to spend $4000 for a trans. , i know you get what you pay for but im not planning on doing anything else to mod the truck except 275's.

Doug, you are not alone in using those words :-laf I'm willing to bet at least 1/2 of the membership said the same thing until . . . one "little" modification is like a Lays Potato Chip "Can't eat just one". It's a slippery slope my friend.

I hear what you're saying 4k is a big nut.

Do what's best for you and your needs, and enjoy your truck.

I cannot comment about Redline. Not many companies have the ability to do the machine work required to make these transmissions hold up. A PROPERLY built 47re is as good as any transmission out there. If your transmission has not crapped out yet, wait and go with a top of the line transmission. Good luck

well looks like i will be going Dunrite there is a local shop that rebuilds transmissions with their parts and he has many trucks locally that run the Dunrite products and havent had any problems. about the same price as all the rest but the biggest thing for me is the shop is local so if i do have any problems i can take it back.
