Very good article about Synthetics

I bought four quarts of redline MT-90 and realized that it's a bit higher in viscosity than the manual requires. I see in searches here that many are using MTL. So, I called redline and asked. They suggest using two quarts of MTL and two quarts of MT-90 although he said you'd be fine with straight MT-90. He did say, however, that he would not go with straight MTL. We were talking about the NV4500 so I can't say what that means for the NV5600.

Thoughts?

I've noticed that with the MT-90 the transmission makes more noise when it's cold than it did last winter. Not sure if I should mix it as originally suggested by Redline.

Has anyone else had more "rattle" after changing manual transmission fluid?

I recently installed a manual transmission temp guage, and changed the fluid to Redline MT-90, the stock Mopar transmission oil was in there, it had over 340,000 miles on it. I haven't noticed a change in the temp at all, it barely hovers over 100 degrees. Its been fairly cold up here in Seattle, but I also haven't noticed any roughness in the transmission since the fluid switch. There has been no change in the way it shifts at all. So far, I'm very impressed with the new fluid, and haven't seen any of the problems that others have seen with using fluid other than the $$$ Mopar fluid. Hope this helps.

I've been using MT 90 in my Jeep CJ7, equipped with a T-18 transmission, for many a moon and have been very pleased with the performance/longevity. I run Redline Synthethics thoughout my Jeep, PS, Transmission, Transfer Case, Differentials, Engine, Radiator, I swear by the stuff and no I don't sell it... ;)
